Meet Lin di Ana of the planet Luratia.

Lin di Ana of the planet Luratia is a progress-loving girl in a modern world, born in a place not of her choosing — the primitive fishing village of Bree, where technology is outlawed and mail is still delivered by carrier birds and fish.

When Lin organizes her schoolmates to win a petition to modernize Bree with a connection to the worldwide grid, a receiving tower goes up and the simple people of Bree are outfitted with old refurbished holophones and a virtual-reality window to the mysterious world they live in.

Lin is certain that life for everyone will improve, but she discovers instead that progress can be messy and win you enemies along the way.
